“How much will it cost?” is the very first question almost every HR manager and event planner asks us — and it's also the question most providers refuse to answer clearly until you've sent two emails and joined a sales call. We think that's a waste of everyone's time. This guide gives you transparent ranges and the real factors that move pricing up or down for corporate art workshops and team-building events in Hong Kong.

The Four Things That Drive Pricing

Almost every quote you'll receive is built from four variables. Once you understand them, you can sanity-check any proposal in under a minute.

1. Group size

The biggest single driver. Per-head cost drops as you scale, but base costs (facilitator team, transport, setup) don't. Below 15 people, you're typically paying the studio's minimum-booking fee. Above 100, economies of scale kick in.

2. Workshop type

Materials cost varies dramatically. A tie-dye tote bag uses HK$40 of materials. A 3D floral painting with preserved florals uses HK$180+. Resin, candles, and perfume sit in the middle. Always ask what the per-head materials cost is — it's the most honest number in any quote.

3. Customisation & branding

Stock workshop, no branding: cheapest. Branded aprons, custom colour palettes, logo-embossed packaging, or a workshop theme built around your campaign: add 15–40%. Fully bespoke programme designed from scratch (e.g. workshop tied to a product launch): add 40–80%.

4. Venue logistics

Held at the provider's studio: lowest cost. Held at your office or a Central hotel: small uplift for transport and setup. Held at an outdoor venue, a remote location, or one with restricted load-in (high floors with no service lift, hotel ballrooms with strict timing): meaningful uplift.

2026 Pricing Ranges (per person)

The ranges below are what mid-market providers (including Art Story Events) typically charge in 2026 for a 90–120 minute facilitated workshop, fully inclusive of materials, facilitators, setup and breakdown. Quotes outside these ranges aren't necessarily wrong — but you should ask why.

Workshop tier Group of 10–30 Group of 100+
Entry (tote, tie-dye, simple craft) HK$280–$420 / pax HK$200–$300 / pax
Mid (candles, soap, painting) HK$420–$650 / pax HK$320–$480 / pax
Premium (3D floral, resin, perfume) HK$650–$950 / pax HK$500–$750 / pax
Bespoke / branded activation From HK$900 / pax From HK$650 / pax

💡 Most HK providers quote a minimum group fee of HK$8,000–$15,000 regardless of headcount. If you have under 15 people, you're paying that floor. Pad the numbers — invite extra colleagues to fill the slots, or you're leaving value on the table.

What's Usually Included (and What Isn't)

A complete workshop package from a reputable provider should cover all of the following. If any are missing, that's a red flag — or at minimum, a reason to negotiate.

Items that typically cost extra:

Hidden Costs to Ask About

The cleanest quotes tell you about these upfront. Less-experienced providers leave them as surprises in the final invoice. Always ask:

“The best signal that a workshop provider is worth booking isn’t the price — it’s how clearly they explain it.”
